Pretty amazing images of ghosts. Captured using new graphic techniques, these images are part of the 12:31 project. The story goes in 1993 a convicted murderer was executed, his body was given to science, segmented and photographed for medical research. In 2011 this project aims to put his body back together.

It’s a week ago today that the iconic and inimitable Dame Liz Taylor passed away. One of the last true stars of the silver screen her life was as dramatic off the camera as it was on. Particularly touching was the recent news article claiming that she was buried with a love letter from Richard Burton, which he penned three days before his death in 1984, stating that she was the love of his life. Allegedly Liz Taylor kept it at her bedside for 27 years refusing to release it to the press. An avid fundraiser for her AIDS foundation, these photos commemorate one of the few heroines of the last and current century.
We just love these graphic images by Oliver Schwarzwald. They were taken for the Colours project by artist Hugo Bruls.

We found these recently. You got to just love them, graphic design from the early 70′s they are about knitting patterns. We just love everything about them, the design, the photography and the copywriting. I feel a personal project coming on!

A short film by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The duo were contracted to shoot the winter 2011 Balmain campaign starring Kate Moss. They set up hidden cameras to capture what happened on set. This dark and surreal animation is the outcome, set to the song Everglade by Antony and the Johnsons. The short premiered on ‘Nowness’. Just love these set of images from the website ‘Things Organized Neatly’. I think it’s a trait of every graphic designer to see similarities in things, and we just cannot help but organise things in an orderly way. Check out their website for more, and you can submit your own.

Some really interesting photography by Peter Funch. Working in New York, but born in Denmark, he takes a lot of photos of his surroundings and the daily lives of people in the City. Taking many photos over several days he will then combine the images enabling him to take create image like the Screaming Dreamers above. Some really fantastic photography. I think these images are so striking and graphic, they really make you stop and look. The images of elephants that he has taken are amazing. The black and white images are very graphic to look at, the main focus point is the animal, each one almost posing for the camera. The composition of each photo is so well crafted you almost forget just how long it must have taken Nick to get the shots he wanted. A really dark, graphic and stunningly well produced set of images.

J.R is the 2011 winner of the TED prize.
Having seen and posted about his work before I can see why J.R is the 2011 TED prize winner. He is an anonymous photographer and artist from Paris, and much like Banksy his work is filled with meaning. His work features the faces and life of local people in small villages and neighbourhoods across the world. He then posts these photographs very large scale around these villages, on their buildings and transport systems.
Being a Guerrilla artist he remains under the radar of the authorities. A lot of his art and designs are posted in places where the local people do not have access to art galleries. Bringing creativity and art to their neighbourhood. I would love to see some of his work closer to home, in and around Birmingham!
Check out the video and a talk with J.R on the TED web site here http://blog.ted.com/2010/10/20/meet-jr/

Some amazing images from Hunter Freeman. The following was taken from his personal project astronauts. His images have this strange dark side to them, as though were not seeing the full picture of what is going on. His portrait work and commissions are just as dark.
